Dear Uriel

When I was a little girl the Archangel Uriel, the fire of God,

watched over me. I did not know that Uriel is the guardian of the nature spirits.

I remember tornadoes.
 I remember being afraid and praying to the Angels.
Now I know to ask Uriel to watch over the wind and the rains.

Now I know not to be afraid.

Spring rain is forecasted for this week.

I bless the rains.

We need them in moderation.

It is almost time for me to sow the spring kitchen garden.

I am looking forward to garden vegetables.

I am looking forward to fresh herbs.

In March I like to have lemon and lime flavors.

I am enjoying curd on my toast this month.

The coconut curd is new for me.

It is amazingly delicious.

Sorbets are also delightful.

My favorite treat these days is a small scoop of coconut
gelato. I am head over heels in love with coconut.

Spring has come early this year giving me extra time to
delight in the wind.

My husband picked up a book for me
when he went to the library.

Creating a spiritual herb garden will be so fun.
I want to get started. I am excited to have an holistic herb experience.
I am ready to sow.

I ask Uriel to keep watch.

Spice

I am learning about spices.

I am adding flavor to our winter food rather than fats.

I am making a commitment to eating more flowers this coming growing season.

I want to harvest flowers for my table

and perserve them for next winter.

We are eating fresh sprouts everyday.

I am looking forward to the kitchen garden this year.

Snow

I am out of the kitchen.

I am on the deck

in the snow

with the birds.

I am bundled up.

I have my tea.

I send prayers to those who are suffering.

I send blessings.

The wind is from the east.

I am learning about spice.

Freezing Fog

Morning freezing fog coated the feeding station.

I watched as the female Cardinal took bites of ice.

"Be careful, it is slippery."

A busy morning at the suet.

Watching the fog lift was beautiful.

I did not stay out too long in the cold.

I am reading a couple of cookbooks today.

I want to expand my skills.

I want to add some spice
to our suppers.

62 degrees

It has been a warm dry January.

The birds come for water.

I have a new treat.

Just a few nibs
and I am full of energy.
They are a super food.
The weather is so very warm
I am thinking of planting lettuces!

I shopped Etsy for a few Dragon things.

I am so glad I did.

I am looking forward to making a Dragon.

Today we begin the Year of the Rain Dragon.

I really love Dragons.

Our celebrations begin today on New Moon
and continue until Full Moon.

Fifteen days to celebrate!

There is a chance we could see Monoceros in the
night sky tonight. With the New Moon and clear skies
we might be able to pick the Unicorn out in the winter
Milky Way. I read Earth Sky every day.
I read where to look.

I love the good Unicorn too.

We will have a quick vegetable stir fry
and rice for our supper.

I am reading about the wonderful Dragons.

They have stolen my heart.

I read it is a high compliment

to be called "Dragon Face."
