Rainy Monday

The pair of Carolina Wrens called to each other.
One was near the back door.
I find them to be joyful birds.
A cold rain has fallen for most of the day.
It is to change to snow over night.

I am reading poetry and drinking coffee today.

We are in halcyon days.
The wind is calm.
The rain is steady.

My friend from Colorado is coming over tomorrow.
We will have Gingerbread men and coffee.
We will share some Christmas cheer.

I looked out the back door and saw our little mouse.

He is wet!
I am reading about W.W. II
I am learning about rationing and
Victory Gardens.

We are painting.
Redoing one of the bedrooms.
We are adding color.
We are making a reading/t.v. room.

I have some shopping to do for our room.
We need more book cases
and the t.v.

Merry Christmas!

  1. Aren't the Carolina Wrens just the most enchanting little birds? They delight me! And look at your little Mr. Jingles, the mouse! He is so cute!! :) Reading and drinking coffee on a cold rainy day sounds heavenly. And spending time with a friend that one only gets to see occasionally is something to savor. Happiest of times...
